Skyve

Those who have the entertainer app, you’ll be happy to know that Skyve 1 for 1 mains are available!

Skyve isn’t located exactly at a convenient location, about ten mins walk from Newton station or 2 bus stop down from little India station.

Love the setting of the place, a very chill secluded area with the main restaurant in a glass house.

Apparently, they do hold wedding receptions here. Nice and unusual location for those looking to have a cosy western type of wedding.

The 1 for 1 mains deal was only applicable to the list of main courses and does not include the chef signatures. That was rather disappointing as we read so much about their cod and lobster dishes.

We were famished and was glad that they gave us complementary bread. It arrived fresh and piping hot.

As there was an odd number of us, we went ahead to order the cod anyway. That was a good move.

The cod was really good. Sweet, tender and perfectly flaky. Love the plating with those lotus chips adding some dimension to the overall look.

The truffle pasta with sou vide egg with parma ham was not bad either. Good balance between the saltiness of the ham and the truffle flavour.

The pork rack with crackling skin and barley risotto was awesome. Loved the spice rub on the pork. The meat was tender and I liked that there was a good proportion of fat to keep the cut tender. The barley risotto was a good balance to the strong flavour of the pork. The crackling skin was on the crunchier side than the usual crispiness. But this is a must order and the best of the mains ordered (maybe on par with the healthier cod main)

The lamb was disappointing. Generous portion yes but it was a huge chunk of meat that was overcooked and hard. It became abit too overwhelming after a while and almost half was left behind.

The beef burger was huge and came with a generous amount of fries. This is definitely for those who love their burgers.

We also tried a side which is the seared foie gras. It was well seared all over and melted in our mouths. With 5 mains, 1 side and a bottle of moscato, we spent about $50+ per pax with the help of the app that waived off 2 of the mains.

The service was impeccable and the service staff were very attentive. They also surprised us with a complementary cake as we were celebrating a birthday. I heard that their brunch menu is quite good as well. Overall, the food quality was of high standards and definitely worth a visit!
